At Utthara Tharavadu, our aim is to provide simple yet comfortable family stay for a group of 8 to 12 people during your family functions like marriage or temple visits or any other purpose in Irinjalakuda

Utthara Tharavadu at Irinjalakuda was designed by Architect duo of Malini & Himanshu.
All the Columns/Pillars and the entrance door are a part of Indian heritage palace which was dismantled.
The flooring is earthen tiles and the roofing look from outside is traditional Mangalore tiles.
The wood work and carpentry on the verandahs ground and first floor is matched to the traditional Tharavadu homes.
Kitchen is simple yet modular with a gas stove, microwave, all kind of utensils, fridge, washing machine, Aquaguard water filter and attached work area with store room.
During rainy season sit around the courtyards wetting your legs under rain water.
All the 4 bedrooms have Air conditioners and bathroom attached with simple furniture just like a home.
Please book Utthara Tharavadu only if you can take good care of it as it was built by my parents with lot of love. They stayed here happily for more than 15 years.

Stay at Utthara
Utthara Tharavadu at Irinjalakuda has to be booked as a whole villa and ideal for large families during Marriage or Vacations or temple visits for short stays.
It can accommodate 8 people on the beds and we can have extra mattress for 4 people which can be laid on the floor.
Book Utthara only if you need an experience of a Tharavadu (Kerala traditional villa) and a peaceful stay and not if you want to get pampered by room service and housekeeping.
It's DIY ( Do it yourself) villa were you will have to make your own food or order food on the app or arrange for catering. If you use the kitchen you need to clean the vessels and the platform just like your home. Basic stuff like tea, coffee, sugar etc is kept. Within 50 metre is a store were you can buy all what you need for any cooking.
The Bedsheets and pillow covers are fresh and all the washrooms are cleaned regularly. When you leave the house please switch of the Geysers, Ac and lights the way we do it at our homes.

The caretaker is only to keep the house clean before you reach and after you leave and wont be available during your stay.
Utthara Tharavadu is an Independent gated villa with full privacy and you will be handed over the keys to open and close. Once you book we will send you detail instructions.
